Summer Together 2020
Can you help us reach our 2020 goal of supporting 100 families?
Summer Together is a wholly volunteer-run program that funds summer camp scholarships and public-pool memberships for Port Washington families in need of economic assistance. Summer Together is organized by Long Island Together (LIT), a group of local community activists working to improve access to educational and enrichment opportunities for children, among other social justice causes.
In the program’s second year in 2019 Summer Together funded 83 family pool memberships at Manorhaven Park and 25 campers who attended one week of specialized camps in dance, sports, science and music.
Our ambitious goal of helping 100 Port families in 2020 needs your support. Please sponsor a child or a family!
$250 buys a family a pool membership for the entire summer
$350 provides a child with a typical two-week summer camp experience - dance, music, science or sports
$1,000 provides an average family with pool membership for the summer plus 2 weeks of camps for each child
Your donation of any amount is welcome! In 2019, more than 90 local donors supported the program and it was awarded a grant from the Greentree Foundation Good Neighbor Fund.
Summer Together's fiscal sponsor is the 501(c)(3) non-profit Long Island Jobs With Justice, leading the fight for workers’ rights and an economy that benefits everyone. Tax-deductible donations can be made by credit card by clicking the Donate button below, or you can write a check out to "Long Island Jobs with Justice" with memo line "Summer Together" and mail to:
